Dazzle Downtown in the Edison Festival of Light

FORT MYERS, FL — It’s that time again to cover yourself in glittering lights. The Edison Festival of Light has opened up applications for their Junior and Grand Parade on their website (www.edisonfestival.org). The 79th annual Grand Parade will sparkle through historic Downtown Fort Myers on Saturday, February 18th, 2017, with the Junior Parade five days before on February 12th, 2017. Whether you ride a horse, pull your wagon, or build a tinsel-covered float, we encourage everyone in our community to take part in this historic event.

The Edison Festival Grand Parade encompasses organizations, businesses, and neighborhoods who get creative to amble for an audience of over 200,000 people. This is a fun team-building opportunity! Get everyone in the office or your next door neighbors to help! The Festival prides itself on tradition and togetherness. Also, the Edison Festival appeals to a wide variety of demographics, which makes a perfect platform for the exposure of your organization to a captive audience.

For the Junior Parade, you don’t need to have a giant float. The Edison Festival of Light encourages schools, families, nonprofits, troops, and everyone in Southwest Florida to participate by offering several options to take part. Whether you’re part of a band, you want to walk with your favorite equine, or you have a giant balloon, the Edison Festival aims to incorporate everyone to get creative and shine.

Of course, the Edison Festival of Light wouldn’t be complete without, well, light. As homage to the famous inventor, the Edison Festival requires everyone in their Grand Parade to excite spectators by wearing some sort of illumination. Become a part of the action and join a parade route to illuminate, innovate, and celebrate! Visit our website and apply today!
