Edison Festival of Light receives Grant from the Southwest Florida Community Foundation

On Friday, November 20th at the Alliance for the Arts, 2015 Festival President Anne Cartier accepted a check on behalf of the Edison Festival of Light from the Southwest Florida Community Foundation. The Arts & Attractions grant is awarded to organizations that strengthen the arts, culture and attractions industry in Lee County. The Edison Festival of Light is proud to present a range of events, most of which are free, to the community through the February celebration that will be celebrating the 77th year of illuminating Southwest Florida in 2015.

Decorating Edison & Ford Winter Estates’ Holiday Nights Tree!

On Thursday, November 13th, Edison Festival of Light Board Members and Volunteers decorated a tree for the Edison & Ford Winter Estates’ Holiday Nights event. The theme of our tree this year was the Edison family and their pets! We had beautiful hand-made decorations that volunteers at the Edison & Ford Winter Estates kindly made, featuring the faces of little dogs and cats fishing–complete with poles! The Edison’s also had peacocks and monkeys! You can find the tree that we decorated illuminating the porch of the main home from November 28th through January 2, 2015. For Holiday Nights details, visit the Edison & Ford Winter Estates website at: http://edisonfordwinterestates.org/

Business Tax Certificate

If you have a LEE COUNTY or CITY OF FORT MYERS business tax certificate, you must provide a copy of it with your application. The vendors not holding a Business Tax in either of those two jurisdictions need to complete the City of Fort Myers Temporary Vendor Tax Receipt Application that is attached in the Festival applications. States sales tax number has nothing to do with “Business Tax.” (Thank you to the City of Fort Myers for helping us clear this up!)
